17 Day Island Peak and Everest Base Camp Trek (excluding flights to Kathmandu)

Island Peak is one of the most popular 6,000m climbing peaks in Nepal. This 17-day expedition ensures you acclimatise gradually whilst trekking up the Khumbu Valley, before reaching Island Peak for your summit experience.

DIFFICULTY: MEDIUM - This adventure requires a basic level of fitness and preparation prior to taking part. There will be long days of trekking at increasing altitude. You will be required to provide a doctors certificate or letter to show your health is suitable to take part in the activity. This is a standard requirement to obtain permits.

Day 1 - Arrive Kathmandu

Day 2 - Fly from Kathmandu to Lukla and trek to Phakding or Monjo (itinaray may be subbject to change depending on flights) 4hrs

Day 3 - Phakding to Namche Bazar 4-6 hrs

Day 4 - Namche rest day

Day 5 - Namche to Tengbouche 4-6 hrs

Day 6 - Tengbouche to Dingbouche 4-6 hrs

Day 7 - Dingbouche rest and acclimatisation

Day 8 - Dingbouche to Lobouche 4-6 hrs

Day 9 - Lobouche to Gorak Shep then onward to EBC and return for overnight stay at Gorak Shep 6-8 hrs

Day 10 - Gorak Shep to Kalapattar and return to Dingbbouche via Gorak Shep 8-10 hrs

Day 11 - Dingbouche to Island Peak basecamp

Day 12 - Island Peak summit day and return to Chukung

Day 13 - Chukung to Pangbouche 4-6 hrs

Day 14 - Pangbouche to Namche Bazar 4-6 hrs

Day 15 - Namche Bazar to Lukla 4-6 hrs

Day 16 - Lukla to Kathmanu flights (itinerary may change subject to flights)

Day 17 - Deaprt Kathmandu
